Certainly, one of Charleston’s merriest bands has to be the “candle crew” behind Rewined. Former wine bottles are cut in-house to serve their new purpose as soy wax vessels scented to mimic our dear friends Cabernet, Rosé and Champagne (to name a few).

We met the dapper young Askew hawking his beautiful cotton boll bundles at The Preservation Society of Charleston’s King Street shop and immediately fell in love with his designs.

With her chic platinum pixie and trademark colorful prints, Proud Mary owner Harper Poe is a bit of a local style legend. Her warmth and ease in talking about her ethically sourced line reflects her zest for the clothing and housewares she imports from South America and Africa.

One of our favorite pieces from the sunny Cannonborough shop, Anna Bond’s colorful Rifle Paper Co. print pretty well sums up what it feels like to be a lucky gal bicycling down Bay Street.

LANDRUM TABLES

Landrum Tables owner and lead carpenter Capers Cauthen is somewhat of an accidental restorationist. Though born to a revered preservationist, there was a time when salvaging hundreds-year-old slabs of wood for reincarnation as one-of-a-kind furnishings was the furthest thing from this carefree skateboarder’s mind. Now his beautiful woodworks grace some of Gather’s favorite haunts including FIG, The Grocery and Zero George Street.
