Souvenirs & Mementos
Hampden Clothing & James
314 King Street | (843) 724-6373
So well regarded is Stacy Smallwood’s fashion-packed boutique that it almost goes without saying: it’s a must visit. Find the latest from the likes of Rag & Bone, Tibi and A.L.C. plus customer service to write home about in this charming, friendly shop.
Mac & Murphy
74 1/2 Cannon Street | (843) 576-4394
It’s no secret that an artfully done paper boutique sets a Gather girl’s heart aflutter. We had the great good fortune of happening upon this paperie (and Ami Murphy, the city’s most charming proprietress) while exploring our neighborhood one morning. A look around at beauties like Sydney Hale candles, Poppin accessories and our favorite Rifle Paper Co. pieces to date confirmed we were in just the right place.
Blue Bicycle Books
420 King Street | (843) 722-2666
This perfect little palmetto-framed bookstore on King Street is everything we had hoped it would be. A spotlighted table in the shop’s center pays deserving homage to local literary stars.
Croghan’s Jewel Box
308 King Street | (843) 723-3594
“The Box” is a Charleston institution, and with good reason. The oldest family-owned jeweler in town stocks both antique and new heirlooms-to-be in their sparkling trove of treasures.
The-Commons
54 Broad Street | (843) 408-3447
A focus on “American Made” and uncompromising quality is everywhere you look in this Broad Street homegoods store. We particularly loved discovering Charleston locals Sailor Craft Knots and Ann Ladson whose pieces make checking your bags worthwhile.
Curiosity
56 Queen Street | (843) 647-7763
This delightful apothecary meets antiquer’s lair is the kind of place we like to roam around (and around again). Get lost amidst the scents of Marble & Milkweed, Pommes Frites or Etta + Billie for a sensory pick-me-up.
